Mardi Gras Mambo 2/21/15

9 miles! 1.44 and it was a humid one! Lots of great costumes, but my first time with this race and this route. A little hilly!! Loved the medal, but boring route!!

RNR 1/25/15

I drove myself, Missy, and Jessica to this one and we had such a good time. Usually I stay in NO the night beforehand, but this time left the morning early and it went well. Beautiful day-perfect weather!! I was a little tired towards the end because I didn't train up to 13 miles this time, but I still made good time (think it was around 2.40-no PR but okay with that) lots of fun!!

Rotary Shamrock Race March 14, 2015

I had a lot of fun with this race, even though it started late! I ran it in about 30.22 and placed 5th in my age division. I'm guessing there were about 400 runners, and I was number 79 overall. It was a humid morning in the 70s, but was happy for sunshine as we had rain the previous week. Great race!!

October 19th, 2014 Gulf Coast Half Marathon

The weather was beautiful and chilly, but not too cold. I started strong on my training for this one, but as life got busier it became more difficult towards the end. I did run it all-an important goal for me. I don't count the walking I did for maybe 60 seconds mile 10. My time was about 2.40-not my best time. My best time is 2.25. However, I learned to be okay with that time and just be happy I finished it. What slowed me down was my lack of fuel. Since I went wheat free, I wanted to fuel with natural foods. But my frozen banana pieces and frozen protein (homemade) balls melted even in the cold!!! So I had to toss them, and basically had no fuel. Lesson learned. Spend more time on my fuel. My first split time was amazing, and I did so well. When I got to mile 9, I hit a wall and needed my fuel that had melted. I had a meaningful race though because I learned the importance of planning he right fuel. I have worked so hard on my eating journey, that a little oversight cost me my time goal. Lol. I have never thought felt better having lost about 32 lbs by eliminating wheat. It inflamed me. I have learned so much since I started experimenting with foods and my body.My  next race is next Saturday. Just a  5k since I can't do my traditional Thanksgiving race. We will be in Gatlinbburg. My next big race is NOLA RNR. Super excited for that race!!

Gleaux Run with the family 8/15/14

This was a fun family Friday night lakefront race benefiting the American Cancer Society. I ran with this Lauren, a fellow teacher friend. It was a lot of fun. Bradley won 3rd place in the one mile and was so proud of him. Rae even ran a mile.

Race to Feeedom

Sex trafficking and FreeNOLA charity. This was in City Park and was very hot! But such a great cause, and I enjoyed the girl time with Crystal.
